Position Overview

The Islamic Center of Passaic County (ICPC) is seeking a qualified and dedicated Nooraniya Teacher to provide structured instruction in Qaida Nooraniya to children and/or beginner students. The teacher will be responsible for helping students build a strong foundation in Arabic letter recognition, pronunciation, and tajweed basics, preparing them to read the Qur’an correctly and confidently.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of the Nooraniya methodology, possess the ability to engage students in a supportive learning environment, and be committed to nurturing students’ connection to the Qur’an.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Qaida Nooraniya according to the established Nooraniya teaching methodology.
  • Guide students in correct Arabic pronunciation (makharij) and foundational tajweed rules.
  • Conduct engaging and structured lessons appropriate for beginner-level Qur’an readers.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents as needed.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and a positive Islamic learning environment.
  • Collaborate with program coordinators and administrators to ensure instructional consistency.
  • Prepare lesson materials and follow the curriculum guidelines established by the program.
  • Encourage students to develop a love and respect for the Qur’an and Islamic learning.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience teaching Nooraniya or beginner Qur’an reading.
  • Strong command of Arabic pronunciation and tajweed fundamentals.
  • Ability to effectively teach children and beginner learners.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining an Islamic educational environment aligned with the values of the Islamic Center of Passaic County.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in teaching Qaida Nooraniya (Nooraniya Method) from a recognized institution.
  • Prior teaching experience at an Islamic school, masjid, or Qur’an program.
  • Formal training or certification in tajweed or Qur’anic studies.
  • Experience working with youth and community-based educational programs.
  • Ability to engage students using effective and age-appropriate teaching methods.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete any required background checks in accordance with ICPC policies.
  • Availability to teach during scheduled program hours.
