Weekend School: Level II
ICPC’s weekend school incorporates education and fun in an Islamic environment. There is a strong emphasis on the Quran, Arabic, and Islamic studies. Students are split into classrooms based on a combination of their age and Arabic language level. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to read/write Arabic, have Quran memorized, and understand Islamic concepts related to themselves, their family, their community and the larger surrounding community.
Knowledge
Students will be able to: Know the importance of salat and practice salat- list and demonstrate Taharah rules – List Pillars of Iman – Prophet Muhammad (S)’s life before the revelation – Emphasis on his qualities and character, e.g.,El Ameen, As Sadiq, etc. – Story of Ibrahim and His Son Ismail –
Memorization
Suras #: 1, 114, 112, 113, 111, 110 – 5 Short Hadiths – Zikr after salat, (Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, AllahuAkbar), Dua after salat – Tashhud
Skills
Students are able to reading and writing of words with Long vowels and madd, shaddha, tanween, sukoon – Students are able to construct simple words and read sentences of 4 words – Students are able to spell words of 4 letters or more
Behavior
Students practic respect for parents, Respect for teachers, Duties of children towards parents, neighbors, each other, towards the poor and unfortunate – Sharing – Truthfulness – Honesty
