Weekend School: Level I
ICPC’s weekend school incorporates education and fun in an Islamic environment. There is a strong emphasis on the Quran, Arabic, and Islamic studies. Students are split into classrooms based on a combination of their age and Arabic language level. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to read/write Arabic, have Quran memorized, and understand Islamic concepts related to themselves, their family, their community and the larger surrounding community.
Knowledge
Students will be able to: state the meaning of Shahadah- list the names of Five daily salat and timings – list the five pillars of Islam – tell the story of Prophet Muhammad (S) before the revelation – list and practice Wudu steps – retell Prophet Noah’s story
Memorization
Students are able to recite Sura Fatiha, Sura Ikhlas / Selection of 5 Hadiths of Islamic morals
Skills
Students are able to recognize, read and write the Arabic alphabets and short vowels (Damma, Fattha, kesra) – Students are able to read high-frequency words – Students are able to spell words of 3 letters
